Bloom Through Pain
Product Story
Inspired by an original portrait of Frida Kahlo, this piece is part of the Portraits Telling Stories collection.
For this portrait, I chose the frontal composition Frida often used in her own self-portraits, allowing her gaze to meet the viewer directly. Instead of her traditional floral crown, I replaced the flowers with sunflowers—a quiet tribute to resilience, light, and the enduring dialogue between artists across generations. The expressive color palette draws inspiration from Van Gogh, bringing a contemporary interpretation to an iconic image.
Rather than recreating Frida’s portrait, I wanted to capture the spirit of an artist who transformed her life into art.
More than a portrait, it is an invitation to wear a story.
